Steel Floor Footings
The footings can be done 2 ways, either bolt to footing pad using our footing base plate with dyna bolts and chem set or you can cast the posts straight into the ground, the option you choose all depends on your level of experience with post setting, as many owner builders for example will prefer the bolt down option as it is easier.
I bet your wondering, how do I make sure all the heights are set up correctly? Simple, we supply the posts pre-cut to size, the lengths depend on the slope of the block, and we will help you determine this, but the main thing to remember is that the heads are fully adjustable. (see pier heads )
The AllCover pier system
The AllCover pier system provides 2 types of pier heads, both fully adjustable in height,
- Screw type pier head
- Telescopic type pier head
Screw Type Pier Head: Both are simple to set up. The screw type for example is most common with owner builders, the screw pier allows you to set your heights by screwing your head up and down to set the height, running a string line from end to end will ensure a perfect level.
Telescopic Type Pier Head: The other option is a telescopic pier head, the telescopic pier head system requires the height to be set using tek screws, once the height is determined using a string line, simply screw in 1 tek screw and move on to the next one, keep doing this until all the heights are set, then go back and screw 4 tek screws into each side, a little bit more labour intensive but more cost effective, depending on the size of the floor system you will probably save a couple of thousand.
Steel Floor Joist System
The AllCover Steel Floor System is a design that makes up a steel floor frame using steel floor joists, bearers, valley joists, heads piers and bases.
The size and grade of the steel floor joists will depend largely on the size of the floor area, engineered load capacity and span between piers.
